Does any one here ever move the car up by jumping the test points (W-R) to do a stop ring test ?

I know guys that do it like that. I prefer to run it from INB to INU, stop on the limit, jump it out, than hit the stop ring. So I test the directional limit at the same time. Also not generally a good idea to run a car from the machine room without door locks or safety circuit. And not that this is what you asked but if you’re troubleshooting a down car it tells you nothing that it will run from W to R/M.

How do you get an up direction after you remove wire from INB?

Remove wire from INB/IN to put it on inspection. Jump p24 to INU or IND to run up or down. Jump AC1 to TDL to bypass top normal limit and put it on the ring.

You just pull the wire from INB and touch it to INU for up and IND for down

Yes, that's how everyone I know does it. Take IN or INB wire off and use construction pins to pressure test (stop ring). I beleive if you take INB off it will still incorporate top normal and bottom normal so it will stop on those to test them and make sure they work or get on car top to do it.

Indirt has it correct. Just use W-R once you made it to top directional to stop ring. Be careful using the W-R test points because it jumps everything out, doors, safety, etc...In other words it will move with doors open. Touching the INB wire to INU keeps door and safety circuit in play.
