We received a call for the elevator not running. We found the MG not running and relay 65x housing broke and leaning against relay 69x. We replaced 65x relay and found one of the leads burnt off 89ta. We repaired the lead on 89ta. We checked our fuses (all were good) and turned the power on. The 89ta picked, the MG started up. But The car won't hold a call. We can see 69x and 69xi are not picking up. We have the prints but there is no pages with 69x, 69xi or 65. Can any one share what these circuits are and what pulls them in!

Thanks

I'll dig up some prints, I'm not remembering a 69x, or 69xi? 65 is a running relay. Find CC (call cancel) and go from there on why the car won't hold a call.

65 is a running relay, picks up with 80 relays, when the car is moving, 69 is the relay that indicates car is at the parking floor, the print i have shows it pics up with sa01 relay which is floor relay for bottom floor. i don't think i have heard of a 3c2bc controller, prints i have are 2c2bc. any way, I'm with e-man, start in the car call circuit 301 etc find out what is going on there.

Heading back there this morning. I'm with you so far. Found those relays but for some reason there are these other relays. It's a triplex control system with two 28 and one 38 machine. I'll keep you posted!

Thanks for the suggestions.

check all your 60, 60A ... relays
make sure you are not on inspection. They have to be up.

I double checked the controller is a 3C2BC-ERL.

(kenelev are 69x and 69x1 relays pulled in by 60, 60A contacts?)

I think the elevators we're installed in 1968. It appears that firemans service was installed later. This feature is not on the prints I have. I believe 69x & 69x1 were added at the same time as firemans service.

I have a call into Adams print archive. Wish me luck and thanks for your responses.

60's relays are the inspection relay.
I cannot found any print that have 69x or 69x1
westinghouse using 69 relay for parking
I agree with E-man and Scott, go back to the basic.
found out why your car call not holding.
Did you try to block in the 69x and 69xi relays, does it hold the call?
Since it is a 3 cars group, you can watch the other car operations and get some idea when and how the 69x and 69x1 relays operate.
It happen so many times, when you looking @ one area. but the problem is on the other place.
good luck!

Make sure these relays are up:
9
11A
90'S
60's (all)
29's
55
72T
CC
I'm assuming you checked all the fuses? Sounds like you have a 2CBC with a Frt?

69x and 69xi were added for fire return main and alternate. (You will find switches in the hoistway for these). Your problem may be one of the contacts on either relay is failing and not allowing the calls to latch. 3c2bc stands for 3c--- triplex, 2bc---- selective collective (two buttons). A 2c would be a duplex.

Thank you V-Man15
How are the switches labeled and are they between 272 & 511?

Just wanted to close this out. The elevator has been running for 6 days now. We had to hand over hand the wiring to trace out the overlay for firemans service. There was nothing at the site and nothing on the prints. Adams (Schindler) claims they only have the prints for the original installation and nothing for the firemans service.

Thanks for the info it was very helpful. Funny thing is that there wasn't switches in the shaft for 69x or 69x1. 69x & 69x1 are wired to the selector.

Again thank you for contributing.
