Does anyone know what the original brake pad thickness was on a Schindler 400A with the 420 machine? Any detailed drawings or literature on that setup would be much appreciated. I realize the original brakes are obsolete and need to be upgraded to the MAYR system but curious what I'm working with from original. Thanks!

If air gap A is smaller than 0.5mm u can adjust air gap. But when B distance becomes smaller than 1,6 mm you have to replace brake.this means that pad thickness is in risk.

Thank you very much. Just confirming the B dimension. 1.6mm or 16mm? Thanks again this helps me a ton!

Sorry. I have to fix air gap issue. . if air gap is bigger than 0,5 mm it can be adjusted.
And B can not be under 1.6 mm.

"1 Check if:
a) There is excessive noise from the brake calipers.
b) The air gap (8) is within the permissible range: A ≤ 0.5 mm.
2 If air gap A > 0.5 mm, adjust the air gap as instructed in section “Adjustment of
Air Gap and Check of Microswitch”.
Prior to adjusting, consider that the distance B between the head of the
adjustment screw and the counternut could become too small.
If B < 1.6 mm, the entire brake caliper has to be replaced."
