Hello. Just got my first 3300 mrl. Where is the cpu and which Schindler key opens the door. And what other keys will I need. …I have to get a handle quickly on this. Have a cat 1 next month. Any traction loss procedures would be very helpful. Thank you.

CPU is in the LDU which is usually at the top floor door buck. The CPU is called CANMB. You'll need a goofy round barrel key to open the unit. Or a small screwdriver works well. The board at the top with the display is the CPU. I'd be here for a month of Sundays telling you how to test these. It isn't a system friendly to a novice. You'll need a manual and a test procedure book.

I'm a novice with these also. I met up with one of the Schindler LR's and he said, "Do not use hoistway access." LOL. You can order a Schindler crown key from elevatorkeys.com which will unlock the buck. EPCO1 key for independent. EPCO2 key for in car stop switch and hoistway access.

That is what they are using now.
The older system used a J222 dual key for in car access. The old Westinghouse style keys.
And then that 501 key out in the hallway. But I find it's better to just close the car doors and hatch doors, then access it up or down. Very easy to tear up their junky pickup rollers.

I'm assuming traction loss is basically the same as a car stall or counterwieght stall. So what I do is turn the car into installation travel, which means going into the 10 menu on the LDU. scroll to 105 hit the enter key scroll up or down to change to a "1" hit enter and then hit the escape enough times to exit back to the status menu. It should now be showing a "51" status indicating you are in installation travel. (meaning the car will only work from Machine room or car top inspection station) Typically while doing this test we also end up testing either the upper or lower limit depending on if you're landing the car or the counterwieght. So from the inspection station at the top of the LDU turn the switch to inspection and hit the enable and run up button. The car should run up unitl you hit the top limit. Now you'll have to through a jumper on xsk 1-2 (or check your print to be sure) and run up again unitl the counterweight lands, you'l be able to hear the belts slip/lose traction and once you let of the enable and run, it should error out. You'll have to do a 101 (scroll to 10 menu hit enter, change 0 to a 1 hit enter again. Now you should be able to run the car back down, once off the limit remove the jumper. Now you can just run it to the bottom of the hoistway and do the same thing again, except bottom limit jumper should be xsk 3-4. Depending on age and style I've also noticed you may or may need to put a jumper on sksk 1-2. If im not correct these are a part of the belt switches (kss). You might need to jump them out if you can't get it to slip traction if i'ts a newer 3300 vs an older. When done go back into the 105 and change to a 0 and hit enter (this might take a few tries to do) this should turn off the installation travel and return the car to normal opertation. It will probably go into a "72" status which means it's just finding itself. And once it does it should return to "01" staus which is normal auto operation.

I can try to find a write up in one of the SAIS documents if interested and try to send it , otherwise this is a basic desription of the process and assumes you are familiar with the menus and sub menus of the LDU for a schindler 3300.
