Got a Smartrise controller with this door operator and getting a serial comm loss fault and occasional encoder fault. If I put controller on door disconnect it’ll run all day. On normal, when door opens, it hits DOL but door motor keeps running. Already swapped motor/encoder with other car, no change. Looking for suggestions. Thanks

You have a Smartrise controller with a TK Smartech II door operator and it’s not discrete wired?

No it’s wired discrete that is from the Smarttech II. Just not sure why it is giving that fault.

I would look at the door board next.

They may always have a 2064 when wired discretely. Sounds like it isn’t seeing the open limit, does it ring out? And do you see the DOL LED on the UIT interface board? If so, do you see it in the actual door board underneath? They can be wired different ways but maybe the serial comm failure is between the 2 boards and the limit not getting from the top to the bottom. Not sure though, don’t really see those on anything but TK controllers.

Smartrise boards are too sensitive to noise, they are far from perfect! When the door hits DOL but the motor continues running it would draw more current and will generate more noise and that causes Smartrise boards to fail.
