How can I force one elevator in a two car group into wild operation without the doors opening and not interfere with the other ones normal operation?

If this an IMC type controller, here’s what you do…
Place car on test with doors closed.
Drop down swing panel and remove DOF triac from board behind swing panel.
Remove ribbon cable from RS board.
Take car off test and car will now run on wild car without opening doors or interfering with the other cars normal operation. Great way to troubleshoot a problem or verify if you have fixed it.

Good luck

That’s great, I’ll have to remember that one.
This is where I use a homemade tool. A battery powered call generator box. The most recent version has up to 5 outputs, can place the calls randomly or sequentially, has adjustable “off” time and adjustable “on” time for if you know how MCE is when you have the car on test. Works for any elevator with discrete call inputs or you can put it in the COP in most cases if the call inputs are serial.

Never heard of this mode. Can someone explain what this mode is for?

Would you mind sharing photos or a drawing of this device?

I’ll make a new thread for it. Maybe get everyone to show things they’ve made to make their jobs easier.

My understanding wild car operation is when a duplex or group looses the master car (power could just be turned off) so the other car goes into wild car operation because the hall calls won't work without the master car on. The slave car will run floor to floor to floor to keep service to all floors. So if your in the hall eventually the car will stop on your floor and open the doors.

Maybe someone else can chime in on this, I've only been explained the theory on this one, I've never seen it happen. It sounds like you'd only find this on older relay logic stuff as newer stuff doesn't rely on one car being operational for the hall calls to function.
