Anybody interested in some Otis parts for the Battery powered elevators? We tore out a triplex and I still have some parts. Battery chargers, circuit boards, load weighing sensors, drive, battery monitors, etc.

A great idea, implemented before the technology was ready.

It Don't mean a thing if it aint got that swing.

As much maligned as this product is, you do have to admit, it was a pretty good engineering challenge.

As a building owner, you don't have to run 3 phase to the machine room, and don't have to deal with the expense of emergency power generators, and transfer switches.

Unfortunately the hardware just wasn't ready in the 80's. Would be interesting to see it implemented using todays technology.

Just keeping up on those batteries was a real chore..was glad when they came out with the mrs..every company has their dark cloud, nice idea though..during brownouts cars would run 4hrs on the cells...

I hope I never see one of those again!

Hoisting all those batteries up and down a ladder sucked!
