How is this equipment to work on? Any special tools needed like you would for an otis 211, or a tac20 ?

Jim, when you say "Resolve", are you referring to the KCM 831 control unit, such as used on MRLs?

If so, they have easy to use menus, good readouts, leds that capture key signal states at the time of fault. Signal tracing hasn't been too difficult, so far.

On the down side, they spew lots of fault codes, some are even helpful.
The fault log has no time/date stamp.
The circuit boards are astronomically expensive, presumably to drive off independents.
The hoist motors alone cost almost as much as a whole new elevator.

I just looked at one of these today for a bid. This one was a mod. done 5 years ago. It is was originally a Montgomery unit and it looks like they kept everything except for the motor and the controller.

I hope they are as easy as you say Vic.

The Resolve is their mod package. There are two types of systems, Resolve-20 and Resolve-100. The 20 is very similar to their hydraulic package, is utilizes a tape and bar reader system through the entire run from top to bottom. The 100 uses the tape and reader for the nts system at the top and bottom. Information is scarce as they have not updated their books for either product in years. You might want to check with the owner to see what they were given at the time of turnover. It does have the kcm components, only the drive interface and drive are different. As with all of their equiment, the drive error log are specific to the drive.
