Why do you need to learn the floor positions? Did your selector tape break?

Greenpants, you are referring to a e401 with the sppt transducer.
As far as I know, the 411 didn't have a tape, but an encoder on the machine and vanes in the hoistway with an optical reader box.
You make any changes to those, you have to do a learn run.
The only way is with a service tool.

The E411 has a selector tape and SPPT transducer. We have 12 of them on service. These are the old Ward Leonard motor control. Hey Green Pants do you know when they did away with this controller and went to the vane/encoder positioning? It seems these replacement boards are harder to come by these days.

We had a burnt prom, as a couple of units are out of service we have swapped out the faulty promo, however this lift has two extra levels, one below ground and one above the top level served by other cars. We have changed the numbers of floors, how do a LEARN of the floor position and save them?

Is this a 411 with the SPPT and tape? Do you have a service tool?

Sorry, must have missed that vintage in our area.Never saw a 411 with a tape.

So,with a tape, does it still have a NTB and NTT vane,or something different.Like a magnet and sensor?Or a TM cam and switches.
The service tool, would it be m 2(mcss) calibrate and learn run?

they still make the E311 and E411 for high velocity cars. the tape/positioning system is very similar to a 401 but the board is serial link comm. you dont do a learn run on these units unless unknown levels are added, floor table is inputed with serv tool. vanes in the hatch are just for dz/ adv door opening. if you took the e2 out of another car with different openings you have to change the install params/masks. i dont recommend it if you dont know what you are doing.

Thanks guys, slow process to get the job running again, floor by floor and enter the count. We had no choice in swapping, the original was a little burnt.
Only issue now is that the car stops at all floors but does not open doors on the top two landings, after modifying the numbers of floors.
Quicker the client modernizes the better off we will be.
So if anyone has a quick fix for the above minor issue, would be appreciated.

Those are great units why mod? The mcss and ocss landing bit masks must be in sync or you won't open your doors.

The controllers have been robbed Hoover the years, parts missing, many failures of basic stuff, difficult to get spares.
Thanks for the info, we guessed as much, but ran out of time yesterday.
