We put 4 new Imperial 525 machines in about a year ago. All 4 machines have oil leaks from their bearings. This can be a safety issue because the oil leaks on the brake drum. If not monitored and cleaned regularly the oil can really build up on the drum. Apparently, Imperial is fully aware of this issue and has crews traveling all over the world fixing this problem. If you installed Imperial machines within the past 2 years you should really look into this and have it repaired.

I installed/adjusted their first 805's, what a fiasco! Swift flew me to NY because they were having problems too. Turns out they were 2:1 and spinning too fast (according to Imperial) and leaking grease out of their sealed bearings. They hated the TKE regen drive. Ended up cheating the interpolation and proved to them that the vibration was their equipment. We "floated" the car up the hatch using DBR's so they couldn't say it was the drive causing the 10.5 hz rumble at 158 fpm. If I never see another one, it'll be too soon. By the way, when I showed them the "float" test, they turned and walked out and went home without a word.
