I took the test and did the interview, but haven't gotten a number yet. Oden said he'd send them out mid April. I emailed him last week but haven't heard back from him. I think they had a lot of guys apply.
On a side note, I'm next on the list for local 84, but I'd prefer to work in philly. Does anyone know if I go to work for 84 and then get my call from 5 if I can accept the job from 5, or do I have to stay at 84?

Yeah my buddy from local 1 suggested waiting for philly but it will be hard to turn down a job when I've been excited to get into the field for so long. I'm more conveniently located to philly, and the hall and school are pretty close to my house. Those are the main reasons for wanting to work for that local.

[Re: ElecTech]
There is a sort of seniority when it comes to unions in terms of layoffs and working from out a different jurisdiction changes things. A transient is like a "visitor". I'd have to re-research it or you can check out the Austin thread and search for it. But either way you'd be a proby so you'd be starting from the bottom anyway. So I doubt it'd make a difference but if you have contacs in local 1, you can ask just to be on the safe side.

No sign of rankings yet. It's taking a really long time. After my interview for 84 it took two weeks to get my number. As for the old list, it's my understanding that there were still people left on the list and they had to re-interview with us. Could be why it's taking so long, so many people interviewed.

I received my ranking 4/27 and was ranked in the low 40's. I'm thinking to e-mail Oden or call the local end of May to see what number they are on if any at all. Got a friend in Local 1 telling me to be VERY happy to be in the top 50.

[Re: Mugshot]
I just called the local and asked some questions. They called 130 from the last list and the last person was called in February from the old list. This list has not began calling any numbers yet. But he mentioned some work hopefully starting soon on the river but I didn't dig into that. Based off of 130 divided by 24 months gives about 5 called per month. I'm gonna call back maybe the end of June to see what's going on then.

Anyone know if they started calling people off the list yet? I'm #14 and emailed Oden last week but he didn't know when they were going to start calling

I called on the 10th and they did not start calling numbers yet. Go on local 5 website and call the number at the bottom and see if they started calling numbers. They are really nice over the phone. Also, if you get a chance ask when Schuylkill Yards is supposed to begin on the river! I would ask but I don't want to call in to much. I'm gonna call once a month tho. Keep us updated if you do call.

Called in for a monthly check up. Local 5 appears to have a few unemployed guys and they are to be hired first before calling from the new list. There is work on the books coming up but nothing started yet. They anticipate to begin hiring from this new list by end of summer.

Called the Local today for an update. They've begun to call guys in and have gotten to #7. The guy on the phone said he doesn't know how many they do a month or anything like that, but it's movIng at least. FYI he also said that they'll call you and they expect you to report to the job the next day. Good luck to everyone!

Got the call today so they are through 14. I'll be starting with Otis doing Modification. I have to go to the hall in the morning to pay my work permit ($150.00).

For the people who have gotten a call, how is everything going so far?
Anyone have any idea where they are at and if they expect work to pick up? I was in Camden and Philly last week and there was construction going on all over the place.
