Car will only run in down direction , even when I pic UA with it on inspection.There is a blown capacitor on controller.Generator was just put back in after being repaired at motor shop.Suicide Circuit?

Always fix the obvious problem first. The cap may have nothing to do with the problem, then again? Are the down relays coming in? Is there a voltage across adjacent brushes on the Generator when it is idling? you should only have a volt or so.
