Well, not knowing much about anything anymore, does this unit have the UPS unit located in some obscure closet in another part of the building no doubt, to bump the car up to floor level? Seems there has to be some way to move that car in emergency situations outside the hoistway. Maybe instructions pasted inside where the drive is?
I hated the MRL too, for reasons like this.
Hopefully someone green or with better knowledge than myself will post up for you.

Everything is like that...”if you know what you’re doing”. I get it. But when YOU find yourself in a situation like Pockets did on a KCM or Thyssenkrupp unit or whatever and that emergency evacuation device ain’t working or you have to read the12 step instructions before engaging yourself in the “how” the controls work, and do it ASAP because you’ve got someone stuck, and you’re on an OT call by yourself with sweat dripping like the Orville Dam break on your face, you’d wish you were dealing with a conventional OH machine and motor room. Just sayin’.

Yeah thatta be nice if the field guys had a say in it, but most of the time it doesn’t work that way. The salesperson sells it with a managers approval. It might even have exclusions, but it doesn’t matter. Then it pops up on the routemans sheet and there you go...get to figuring it out, just like Pockets has to.

Replace the batteries, you can bypass it with the blue tool.

Throw the disconnect in the jam panel, put your key in and turn it to battery,(momentary switch), then push the BRB....(Push button on the panel) that will release the brake and it will bump up 4-6 inches and then you can bring it up to the top terminal landing to reset the Gov/overspend switch.
