The controller is a Dover Computamatic. The elevators are in a jail. So there are 3 different modes of operation. Mode 1 is controlled by a guard in the control room via computer interface. Mode 2 is for visitors and can be used to reach certain floors via hall calls or COP. Mode 4 is for officers and can be used to reach floors other than street level via hall calls or COP. Mode 3 is not used. There are 2 elevators in the system, but each has its own hall calls. While changing out a hall call button, either the hall call + or - slipped from my fingers and shorted to the light bulb terminal of the call button. Now when either of the elevators is in Mode 2 (Visitors), the car runs to all Mode 2 authorized floors as though in sabbath mode. Mode 1 (Control Room) and Mode 4 (Officers) are both working properly.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Might be a silly suggestion, but have you tried a complete power down and reset?

Yes, did try a power down/reset.

I compared the elevators with the problem to a mirror pair of units in the other building in the same facility. There is 1 timer board (SEES part # DPC-22) and 10 IBM relays that are not active in the problem system, but active in the working system. The 10 relays are MDP, AT01, AT02, DITR, MDT, IZ1, IZ2, IZC, IZCT & TZH.

Thanks

If this is as custom as it sounds, are there accurate prints onsite with all of the additions and changes marked up? If you could get pictures of them we might be able to help.

If all this started when you shorted the hall button, I think you have welded some contacts in your CS, UC, DC, relays. There could be more, but it seems that you are describing a car that stops at every floor (Sabbath) and that could be welded wire contacts from the short.

I think the Z relays in your list are all Zone relays and may not play in Mode 2. I don't recall what the others are, maybe the relay list could tell us.
