I have a Otis Mrs w generator just put in a new hoist motor got the car runs up normal speed but slow speed in the down the generator sounds a little bogged down on the down.chexk all speed relays etc
Any help would be great

Sounds like a ground or leak in loop circuit.

Thanks for your quick reply I opened the the top where the connections on the genny was and it was litter w carbon dust.how can I research the leak .just send the generator out?

What was the original problem with the motor? Also make sure you are getting full field voltage to the motor. You check for leaks with a megger.

Orig prob w motor is that they pulled the motor due to a broken pig tail and the com was cooked.i check the MF runs constant at a standing of 40 and running around 85 in both directions.

compounding might be screwed up,neutral might have been moved on generator..up/dn.should have a flat of 10fpm..

It’s a good idea to check neutral first. Even if the motor/gen just came from a motor shop. You’d be surprised.
