When I worked in Florida for Kone. We were tracked via GPS on work phones. We couldn't start/ end time unless you were in the building location. It was extremely difficult and annoying. But if you want to get paid there was not way around it.

Moved to TX working with a different national company, they hadn't been GPSing ...that I'm aware of. Now they plan to take the Kone model and implement the same. My question is this the new normal? Is there anything we can do? I get they want to cut the fat now after TX starts to open up.

The final straw for me was my manager requiring us to wear our company ppe while at home mowing the grass and being told I could lose my job if I got caught wearing my leatherman again. Yah, I don't think so. Good riddance.

Hope&Poke you need to get enough guys together and stage a walkout. If you want change you have to fight for it. I tried fighting for it but nobody stood by my side. Every guy I know needs the $2000 a week paycheck to pay his bills. You want freedom, you must fight. I decided to take my fight another direction, I am now a small business owner fighting for marketshare and am not GPS tracked. I do work 16 hours a day though. Boomer, that made me laugh. I'm 44 and did not realize that I was a boomer. My, where does the time go.

Hog451 nothing wrong with unionizing. There is strength in numbers as long as you're not divided.

Well in this environment, a lot of oaths are being broken. I work union. Snitches calling out their own brothers and sisters for petty stuff. Customers already asking for money back, concessions, buildings still nearly empty. The commercial real estate is tanking, with people working from home and not filling up the hotels for years to come. They don't have a demand for new buildings or service techs. What ever the worst period for the elevator escalator trade was, this scammedemic, Plannedemic is worse and going to effect this great trade severely. God Bless

Don't give up! Live within your means and get out of debt. Put away a years supply of food. Use the food and rotate the food. Have a years worth of wages in your bank account. Get more training. Do fun things with your family and friends. Make a budget and stick to it. Buy a couple guns and have some ammo laying around. Do some community service and help mow the old neighbors grass down the road. Stay positive! These current economic situations will pass. Most importantly get to know your maker. We'll all be meeting him very soon. IBEW 4 years and IUEC 22 years. It's a shame that my IUEC Local won't give me the time of day to discuss a signatory agreement. Nothing better than working for a small independent that can manage guys without the need for GPS.
