I’m trying to replace my 6v emergency lighting battery in the car station panel mounted in the lower portion. Every time I hook up the new battery my main power drops out ?

Battery polarity backwards? Common for guys to put the red Faston on positive and the blue on negative but the color is based on the wire size so the one with the fuse goes to positive.
