Would anyone know how to get new DMC eproms?

TK sounds like they don't sell them anymore. The local rep said "You're pretty much screwed". Sounds like they are in the same boat.

Any other way to get some?

I'm not 100% sure how, but I have to think if you had another dmc to copy the software off its eeproms you could just clone them. Eeproms are just a type of flash memory. The hardest part I would think would be knowing which adapters to use or how to get to the software right through the serial port.

I was working with a mechanic a couple of years ago who got some eeproms in this way. When he asked the guy who made them how he did it, the reply was "I like steak too, you know"

I do have an old bytek and a computer that I could do that with. I'd do it as a last resort, and I may have no choice, but I'd like to get legit ones if there was some way to do it.

Thanks for the reply.

Honestly if TK won't sell them the best bet I'd think would be stealing them off a car being modded. Now that you made this thread I'm going to have to remember to pull them all the next time we mod a dmc.

Do you know what version you need, I think I have some floating around in the sleeves

I'm almost certain that anything but the very oldest software will work.

In the Sees catalog they list the software as one part number only. Of course they don't have any.
As long as all of the chips are there, I think it would work.

I'll be glad to pay you for them.

If you have an older CLC card like anything before 6300BP4 you need a 675ANnn. Newest is AN13. For a BP4 CLC you need a 675DKnn. Newest is AN13. Different versions for a DMC1-A without a selector and if there’s an “SP” at the end of the number it means special, like job specific generic. You’d have to get that from Vertical Express.

Good info.

This job does have a selector.

Am I right in thinking that we could use the latest software, even if this job started out with an older CLC card that was later updated?

Vertical Express is evidently out of the business of selling DMC software. I guess it had to eventually happen when they stopped selling the boards.

It doesn’t matter what the job came with. Only which CLC is in it now. There are a lot of other versions too but mostly I see AN and DK. The point is the newest CLC (6300BP4) requires different software than all the older CLC cards. So if you’re going to copy software from another car, make sure you get compatible software.

Thanks. Ordering now.

Wow. No easily obtainable stock. I see why TK isn't selling them.

Oh I didn’t realize they weren’t in stock anymore. I’m sure you can find something on eBay. 27C256 UVPROM.

Great idea. I grabbed some used one from the US. Lots of stuff from China, but not sure I can wait that long.

Here's where I'm at.

I've got a BP4 board, and 675DK13 software. It cranks up, takes parameters etc, but doesn't seem to want to talk to the door board and selector properly. Once in a while it'll get selector status, but won't give me SUP to do a learn run. The door board won't learn either.

Selector and door board software incompatible?

Door Board 675AB1 675AB2

Selector 675A01

Original CLC software was 675AA1

It was having a door issue. A tech replaced the door board, and the clc wouldn't come up again when it was powered back up. Tried other boards, but no luck.

What I have says you need at least a CV2 selector with 675AD9 software or newer. Door board has to be an FX or PY. The really old ones won’t work.

Thanks very much.

I don't recall ever changing software on the selector or door board. Am I right in thinking that they come with software?

You've been a great help. Can't thank you enough.

Just looked at the pics on Sees, and the Selector board eprom slot is unpopulated.

I imagine the door board is the same.

My memory must be fuzzy smile

Door and selector boards come with software, just 1 chip. I’ve never had reason to change software on either. How’s you end up getting the DK13?

I happened to talk to another union independent in the area (we are making boards that make addressing a MA code issue an easy fix), and asked if he had software around. He happened to have this new board and software, and mentioned that he couldn't get it to work with older boards in a system. He let me take it, and we'll pay him if we can get it to work.

Make sure you copy the chips while you have them

I will for sure.

I talked to World today. No software with the Selector, and they are saying the PY door board has to be programmed by TK.

I guess Monday I will talk to the owner about a Mod.

Hi all,
Great info trust!!!
I'm wondering which door board was installed originally? Thyssen has sent me the wrong board which will only work with a Tac 20. Which door board model number was removed and which number was installed?

Kind of hard to tell. The original one was so old there isn't a 6300 number on it. ASSY 141329 w 675ABx and 675acx eproms.

We tried several we had on hand.

6300PY2 & 6300PY4 are for DMC
6300PY1 & 6300PY3 are for Tac20
You can have the same problem with FX boards but I’d have to look those up

Hi, I am new here.

I have a damaged 27C256 Eprom M1 675AA3, it is overheating. Tried to read the code with an Eprom programmer, reads only 0xFF's, chip is really bad.
I already have the new erased 27C256 to be programed, but do not have the binary to program into the chip.

Where can I download the 675AA3 for the M1 position?

Thanks a lot,

Hi, during the last months I did learn a lot.

The door boards 6300PY1 and 6300PY3 in fact WILL WORK on the DMC, but it needs the eprom code 675-ET4. Those boards come with eprom code 675-HA2 for the TAC-20. With code HA2 on DMC, the board will obey open/close door pressing the board buttons, but WILL NOT communicate with CLC. It needs the 675-ET4, then it runs nice, found this by chance.

The DMC CLC board 6300BP4 will run with 675-DK4, DK6, DK11, DK13, being the DK13 the most recent I saw around. DK11 and DK13 has some extra CLC adjustments on IMS, and allows car cycle setting mode 86. Change 86 to floor A, enter enter and save, change 86 to floor B and enter enter but don't save. Car will cycle between floors A & B.

I don't know what extra improvement they made on DK13 from DK11, curious to know.

CLC uses Eprom chips 27C256 speed 70ns, but it runs nicely with chips -100ns and even -120ns, since clock is 7.3MHz and the processor 68HC09 use 2 clock cycles to read the eproms, so more than 270ns.

The DMC Selector board 6300CV3 with eprom 675-JK1 (25C512). The eprom socket is longer than the eprom. Eprom has 28 pins, socket has 32 pins, The eprom bottom is aligned near reset switch, the socket top 4 pins is unused, 1, 2, 31 and 32. It is easy to confuse. The bottom 32k of the 27C512 is unused and empty, I don't know why they did that, maybe expecting future expansions or upgrades. Technically a 27C256 will work, but I didn't tested yet, since the A15 addressing pin is N.C. on the 27C256 and the eprom will answer when this pin is active or not, so, will answer as a 27C512 upper bank.
