I'll try not to make this too long, but received a call yesterday on a KONE Mono KCM. Of course, it's one of the critical cars in the Hospital, nonetheless, when I arrived, the car would not
1. Take a demand or hall call 2. Respond to Inspection or any Automatic call from the controller 3. E-Brake will pick but the car will not run in either direction.
Navigating through KONE's oh-so-friendly prints, it's leading me back to this Boost Brake Module for the Main Brake. Mind you, when given a direction via inspection, the car will not move. I don't have "Main Brake to CH1 or Main Brake to CH2" high. When I plug in XB1 (sorry if my terminals or name is incorrect, my head is spinning right now) into the E-Brake Module, "Main Brake to CH1 and Main Brake to CH2" go high or lite. It won't run under that condition, but can I assume that we have a bad boost brake board?
All other voltage checks, seem to check out. Even the output from the Main Brake Module of 480 and E-Brake 230. Very confusing, but what else could it be? Again, upon a direction, it will pick the E-brake and then fault out the drive w/o a direction (direction being movement). In addition, the ADON board is not faulting out, so again, I can't see any inputs shorted that may cause anything back to the ADON and/or CPU.
If it doesn't move with E-Break Handel when the power is off, you got Mechanical Issue. KONE LCE has sub code error, so when you see the error code like F 0186 push the select button it shows you the Sub code error. Also, what is your inverter type? (V3F25, KDL32, KDM, ...)
Yes it moves via the brake release. As for the drive, it's a KDM. I'll send over the sub-codes Monday morning. I had everything written down and had to take other calls around the complex and left behind.
Odd with the outputs voltage being there, why it would fault out. Makes me wonder without doving to deep I to the prints, if this drive didnt take a sh.. Before I go there, I'll do some digging Monday
If this is a MRL, you are prob going to have to drift the car up with the emergency release so you can access the brake. The 188 is telling you that one of the brakes is not opening. You can also switch the input voltage from the E-Brake to the main Brake. to see if it is a board prob or a brake issue.
I was thinking about swapping XB1 from Main Brake Module over to the E-Brake module. I'll give that a try.
Yeah it's a MX32 Mono, so I can assess both brakes in the machine room.
Funny they just changed both modules in 2020, again odd things go bad that quick. Call me old I guess, just seems as though there's another problem deeper, but changing out both works for some I guess.
Ok finally back...so I swappednthe modules hoping one (main) was bad not allowing the main brake to pick. To no avail, after swapping, same issue or problem.
Either on insp or auto, e-brake picks but not the main.
I have a video not knowing if will do much help and a picture of the brake. Video may be too large, but I can send via PM or text
As for the sub-codes...I'm getting 0026 2103 and same for if on inspection 0021 2103.
So that is telling you that the Brake Modules are good and the problem is either a bad wire to the Brake Module or a bad Adon2 Bd, or the board that goes out to the Brake. You should be able to check the wire and eliminate or confirm that, and go from there. If you have a meter and a print you should be able to pin it down.
Sometimes there's no better troubleshooting tool than a second identical car that's running properly. If you swapped the brake modules and it didn't move, swap another part. I'd swap adon boards next.
the F 0026 usually appear with other Drive faults (0100~0150) Sub Code of those faults are important and you can refer to Fault code of each Drive.
the number of faults appear first like shows "F 2" then shows " 0026" that means you have 2 error and fist one is 0026 for second one you should press up or down button on CPU.
That is why I said video will help because show these and also LEDs on CPU.
Wait, I just re-read your last post. If you switch brake input wires, at the brake, and you get the same problem, that means your main brake is getting voltage and not opening. Is this correct? You can easily test this with a meter. If so the brake is either out of adjustment, or the brake module is bad. with everything handy right in the MR you should not have a problem figuring this out.
Circling back - Can't pick the main brake, don't have voltage coming over to the main brake. Picks the E-brake, but not the main brake. Can't run on inspection and auto. Won't pick any of the auxillary or main contactors (201's). 206 is up finally, found another issue in the drive and fixed that, but here we are again.
1. I have to correct myself, it's a KDH Drive 2. The customer finally approved some things outside of us already spending a ton of money on parts. Replaced the two brake modules and that didn't do it. In hindsight, now becoming a bit more familiar with the actual controller and its signals, these were and are doing as intended. Voltages are there, didn't want to worry so much about these knowing the voltages are there. 3. Sent the ADON off for repair being because I wasn't able to make up the K464: 2 relay which then sends voltage over to XD1 and so forth. So they corrected this issue, however, from K464:1 and K464:2 over to XD1/5 and XD1/7, I don't have 230volts. I have it at XM1/3 and XH2/3 w/ safe activated and again K464:1 and 2 make, but only 40vac to XD1/5.
Could this be a bad ADON board? At this point and no disrespect to KONE guys or whatever your preference is, but this controller is a headache. Attached is a picture of where I'm at and frankly it's not that hard, but sort of stuck here. What else could it be?
Also, attached is a picture of my controller, where exactly is this 728:1 LCEESTL board, I don't see it in my controller, assuming this does have and should have ETS and NTS functionality, where is this board? Again, not jumping to far ahead, but XD1/5 seems to be an issue.
Any help or just order the new ADON board from KONE which is another $6K and see what happens?
Just purchased a new ADON Board 3, before I replace this board knowing I don't have the necessary voltage to XD1/5 for the main brake to pick, could it be just a f.... parameter I'm missing. Also, anyone have the write up to learn a ADON board (2 or 3, I'm assuming doesn't matter).
With adon 3 is different then the 2 I believe. 99% the same but when you get to the part where you're running it up or down on inspection and it says stop you keep it going for an extra 10 seconds
