They are nice except they don't work well on the older DC or HD series dover operators. Those units require to much torque and burn up the drive boards if they are high use elevators, ok on low use as they have time to cool down. Obviously if you have a GAL operator ,its better to toss on a MOVFR, then those then those I've put them on most other elevator no issues. You do need a stop in the open direction so it can properly sense the open torque increase to set the open limit.

I am having board failures, but MCE doesn't know much about them! The product is from an Italian company.
We have them on Dover HD, Westinghouse coffin and GAL applications. Wondering if anyone else is having trouble with the product.

Anyone have ideas on other manufactures that do a similar retrofit kit?

If it is produced by an Italian company, it's most likely produced by Prisma. If you google it and look at pictures of the motors, they look mighty similar.

Another thing you could do to retrofit an old system would be to buy the GAL MOVFE linear (just the motor, controller, sensors) and then install it similar to how a SmarTraq is installed. The only downside is that you also have to mount sensors and magnets. I've seen this done on Schinder

Have you done this? I have been thinking about this exact thing, I actually called GAL and discussed with one of there engineers. I think I may get the parts and attempt this. GAL is releasing a harmonic door operator retro fit kit soon to do this also. I just would rather keep the HD hardware and retro fit the motor and drive system.

No. If it's an old Miami Elevator HD, I would actually recommend looking to Wittur, since Miami Elevator was bought out by Thyssen (now TKE), and the hall doors, even to this day, still use Miami Elevator style hardware. In my opinion, I think the best solution would be the full LD-16 AMD/SGV upgrade. Pros: Comes w/cabin door interlock (no gate switch). You can now get rid of the old rusty sheet metal between floors (fascia). Cons: Rehanging cabin doors is req'd.

The other solution from TKE/VE & Wittur is the Drive Only LD-16. Pros: You can retain all cabin door hardware except operator (to be replaced w/linear). Uses door plug contact instead of gate switch. Cons: No cabin door lock (still requirs sheet metal between floors).

Also: Parts available from multiple vendors (KONE, TK/VE, & Wittur)

A cheaper alternative would be to get an IPC D3000 board and wire it into the Miami HD op. Old motor can be reused (DC only), or replaced with comparable.
