I have a Thyssenkrupp Vertical Express hydraulic elevator, and I'm woefully short on technical knowledge. The helpful "users manual" provided with my equipment basically has one page that says, "if something is wrong with your elevator call a technician." That's great, but because of my agency's procurement guidelines, I need to hire two technicians, one to tell me what's wrong with the elevator so that I can write a bid specification and another to repair the elevator.

I would like to have a more advanced, maybe installation and alignment manual, or a full-blown service manual, but the companies in my area are reluctant to sell me one. How can I acquire one of these documents?

The elevator is a Thyssenkrupp Vertical Express EP08020 serving two floors which I understand is nearly identical in design to a Thyssenkrupp TAC22.

I'm not trying to be smart, did you call vertical express? As the elevator owners I believe you can purchase that information from the manufacturer.
Where is the original installation company? Do they have any records? Can they purchase the information you need?

Make good choices,

Several years ago, Vertical Express had a week long training class in Memphis, Tenn. it was probably the best training class I have ever attended. The instructor's name was Robert Bowman, he was fantastic, we went through every line of electrical print. We went through the entire I-2 valve theory and setup. I do not know if they still offer this class. It was free, just had to fly there and pay hotel and food. They took us to the Thyssen factory in Walnut, Mississippi. And down the road to the factory where. Controllers are built and valves adjusted. If they offer this class, it is Awesome!! Give you books, and all the knowledge you need to install, and troubleshoot......Good Luck

Is it the icon controller? If so I may have a few manuals laying around? Those are pretty much identical to the tac 22s.

I went to that same training class in 07 it was great once all the know it alls got shut down after the first half of the first day. Then a year later they yanked there controller from us so I went to smartrise. Best controller I ever used. I did a mod with one on a mowery 4 stop hydro by myself in 4 days. Adjusted running everything and only had to call there office once to give them the other half of the payment so I could get the access code to start programming.

Yes, the Icon manual has worked for me on Tac20 and Tac22's The fault codes definitely match, because I have Ims software and checked Ims against the manual. Identical.
