You will get a little vacation money for every hour you work, paid probably twice a year. It will probably add up to a single paycheck. I advise any new worker to cancel all vacations and firm weekend plans, at least for the entire first year. Be available to help on any and all overtime offered to you. Be available, be energetic, be energetic some more. I cannot overstate this enough, that there are a lot of egos in this industry, so what happens between you and a mechanic, or what he says about anyone else, STAYS between you and that mechanic, forever. Don't talk about one mechanic in front of another. I'm serious. You can screw yourself and be laid off quick, when nobody wants you as their helper.
