before you do anything make sure the tension device at the end of the relating cables is secure and operating properly. If it isn't it will act like your description. At power up the operator runs a self-test. Open the doors 3 or 4 inches. When switch S1 is activated the doors will appear to jump in both directions if all is well. The run-test switch needs to be in the run position to perform this test. So if memory serves, the dipswitches are used to set the door operation. I believe the BK dip-3 has to be down to be in the learn mode. the rest of the dipswitches are used to determine if the doors are center open, side open right hand, left hand etc, those need to be correct. I hope you haven't changed any from the install. Put SW-1 at stop pos. put SW-2 in test pos. apply power, then move SW-2 to close pos. the doors should close slowly and the led ds2 should light up. Then move the switch to open, the doors should open slowly. When the doors get to a a good spot for the open limit put The SW-1 to stop. Then reset the BK dip 3 to the up pos. and hit the reset switch S-1. that should do it if all is well.
