Has anyone ever seen a board like this register an FF fault? It is supposed to register faults in numbers from 01 to 40 something. But I have one that registers an FF fault. ????

Not sure but get out of the fault section to the current section and that should show the current status ie ao7( door scanner tripped) etc, then you can see whats happening. It might just need a reset of the board then show the right fault.

I actually think I know what the FF is now. It seems that a new board with no faults in its memory shows 1FF, 2FF, 3FF, etc. up to 10FF. When a fault happens it takes the place of 1FF and moves all other faults up 1.
Since changing the board it is now saving faults and allowing me to find what the problem is. The previous board was only showing FF's in the fault log. Something must have went wrong with the board for it to stop registering faults and also erase previous faults.

Ah ok i must admit i've never seen an open fault shift register but what you say makes sense. FF being a hexedecimal last number so its logical. You could just pull a 102 wire to simulate a safety fault, Fo2, to prove this theory. As i said if you push the red button to get to the current status on the display, it will tell you what state the lift is in. let me know if you need any other help.
