Looking to disable the viscosity control on a 330a, any info would be helpful.

I am guessing that there is a i/o that could be turned off to disable the viscosity control. the customer is tired of listening to it. the MR is in the center of the building and i dont think it needs this feature on. no manual on the job and just looking for some info so i have a idea of what i am looking for in the display.

I don't think it can be 100% disabled but you can change the temperature that it heats the oil to it should be set at about 26� Celsius if you lower the temp it shouldn't bypass

Correct me if I'm wrong, if its not needed then it should never kick on. The temp falls below a set number viscosity kicks on to heat it up. disabling this feature could lead to leveling issue and now a safety hazard. Someone trips, hurts them selves, and get a law suit started. No you are sitting on the stand explaining the reason you disabled a feature is cause someone don't like noises. So I suggest you get the building manager to sign off on this decision before you do it.

Or is the problem is viscosity runs constantly and does not kick off? cause then you might have a issue you need to take care of.

Thanks for your guys feed back, just picked up this unit and i will look and see what the temp is set at and will take precautions as advised.

Leave it alone. The schindler engineers designed that into the elevator for a reason. Its a necessary safety and reliability feature as srbm has noted.

You may want to look into a tank heater it will do the something without the noise

Or another option would be putting some sounds proofing on the walls of the machine room.

you can narrow the window of temp ranges it turns on and off as well as limit the length of a cold oil cycle
