Kone has just recently released their service tool that their mechanic's use, to the public, Not sure why the change of heart but get them while you can. They don't come with the service manual. not the good one anyway but they are available. The ecosystems are great units once you get used to them. They might stop selling them but for now they are public domain, I just bought one 3900$ pricey but again well worth it. Those things just run and run and run

What type of equipment can the tool be used on?

all kone stuff that needs a service tool, including my favorite the Eco system

no tool needed for eco/mono space equipment eco escalators the tool can be used on the only people that really use the computer is adjusters and they dont even really need it

You need the tool if u change CPU board you need to set all your Parma. Like on the s (smart) controller found on hrs an e5000 an the new e3000. Plus u can tell which Hess is acting up it's very usefull even if tech is on call that is not hip on esc can be talk through a problem over the phone.

Just verified with KoneSpares that this unit is still available. They provided the following information:
The time limit is set to 25 years
The tool is not job specific
The tool is set to level 3 (supposedly the top level)
The tool will work on Montgomery/Kone Elevators and Escalators including E3000 and E5000. The only exception, is a specific controller type that has a service tool actually on board.
