Whats the best way to get air/water out of oil

We have tended to just replace the oil.

Yes replacement of oil is best solution. Getting it out of the jack isn't bad if you know how.

Is it air or water? Air will dissipate as the car runs. Water does not. How did it get in the oil?

Dan can I ask what you guys do to get the oil out of the ram? Under orders from the boss, we drain the tub, then land the car and then remove the coupling to let the oil drain out. Do you use air to do this and from where?

I like to land the car on jack stands,
Disconnect the plunger from the bottom of the car
Open the valve and land the plunger
Disconnect the oil line

Modify a end cap for your oil line
Remove the jack head
Fish a copper tube down to the bottom of you casing
Put your Jack head back on
Start adding air pressure...

Thanks JKH. I had an idea like this, but wanted the boards ideas too. Most of the time these days, rams that are set into the floor is yesterdays technology, with side acting rams installed today. This can a little easier to do to, get the oil out of the ram with the oil line near the bottom of the caisson.

JKH is right on. Only thing we do differently is use plastic hose that is weighted and drop it down from the oil inlet. This keeps you from pulling the head. But on some tight jobs with little room betweem jack and piston you have to pull the head.
