have never worked on a galaxy controller, route mechanic indicates car has been shutting down with a COMM ERROR on the hpv 600 drive. has anyone had this problem? very intermittent, happens once a day for the last few days.
mechanic indicates that gal told him it may be the drive. any advice before i head out there next week. thanks guys

I have two galaxy hydros to look at for someone next week. Last time (6 months ago) I was there I was told they were having multiple problems. When I started to dig I found others complaining about contactors being undersized. The contactors at this site were replaced and their trouble went away. At least with the control side of their issues. The job is a duplex less then two years old. As the one unit runs up & down oil squirts out where it appears to be seamed together. The owner said the unit was repaired.

If you have an HPV 600 drive that is a series II, they had a lot of problems with that model a few years ago. We sent back at least a dozen drives on warranty within a six month period.

JKH we fixed a jack yesterday that had been squirting oil out of a seam for the last 30 years. We just took this car over and it was a deep pit. (it was a traction and the basement level was abandoned) With oil all over the place. So we go to repack and my repair guy finds the real problem while cleaning and deburring the piston. We hung the car and screwed the piston together and no more oil leak. All done in about 3 hours. And it makes you wonder how many wasted hours were spent repacking and oil clean up over the last 30 years? As far as the Galaxy we have had to replace the Aux relay on the soft start on several jobs. They pick every time before the starter does vs other manufactures where they pick and stay picked.
