Hey everyone, I am the administrator of this site and also an elevator mechanic working out of local 18 in Southern California. I want to thank everyone that has posted a solution to a problem or has posted a question to this forum. Almost every week I come across an elevator, elevator problem, or a part that I have not seen before. I'm sure a lot of you have the same issue. With the help of the members on this forum and the future members to come (AKA YOU) we can answer most of these mysterious questions. Thanks again for visiting and have fun with this site. Work Safe!
Interesting forum you guys have here, it has great potential & given time it will grow. I think a few of our members on the shack will be joining soon, but you may need to give some of them a little space as they can have some strange humour. Hello to all your members, it takes a lot of hard work & dedication to do what Mike has done and such forums can only benifit our industry. Well done Mike and keep up the good work buddy.
Frank

Thanks for the advice and support. We will welcome anyone that wants to stop in from Elevator Shack even with the weird humor, I'm sure we can all compete in that category.
Gidday Mike, Greetings from the Antipodes. Great to see this site and I hope to get and give much. I've been in the industry since leaving school in '74 and started with the big O. A couple of decades were devoted to Kone and Schindler. Building a knowledge base is much easier with sites like yours and the Shack than it was when I started. (no internet or cell phones. Just info passed on from your tradesman and stuff you learned the hard way.) This Board will grow.
I'm glad elevator guys like yourself and the others in our forums are willing to share their knowledge and experience. Thanks for your contribution to the industry and to this forum site.
Hi also from elevatorshack and the wonderfull land of Oz. Started in 1985 did my time with schindler 8 years in total. Done 2 stints with Liftronic 3 months and 4 years. Link Elevators 1 week. AP Morlings 3 months. Dover Australia 6 months. Electra Lift Company 2 years. Thyssenkrupp Elevators Australia 5 and a half years. Currently at Access Elevators Australia 3 months to 10 years.
Hi Mike Yet another Shack member. I started in the trade in 1977, 4th generation, and worked for several small independent companies in and around London, then a spell at TK and a couple of independents again. I was then a lift manager in the public sector looking after over 350 units. Now I'm almost stuck in the office full time.

[Re: bfb]
I finally was able to register and be able to log on thanks to the administrator of this forum. I've worked in the elevator business for 38 years. Retired in 2001. I've been in mod and repair but mostly maintenance in and around NYC. I've worked on or seen almost every type of elevator. I worked with some pretty smart guys and a little has rubbed off on me. So, if I can help with some problem, I try... Bob

Hey Bob, glad to see you made it. We had some technical difficulty for a little while but it should be resolved now. Just like elevators, websites need a little troubleshooting from time to time. Anyway, thanks for joining and we look forward to hearing from you on future problems.
I'm Glenn. I live and work in south Florida. Origonally from NYC. 27 years in the industry. If you dont mind... I'd like to put a few guys I work with on to the site.
Hey Glenn, thanks for joining and feel free to share this site with all the guys at work. We look forward to hearing from you and anyone that has a question or comment related to the elevator industry.
