have a friend back east, who recently had his miprom 21 digital drive, removed and sent back for repair. they also wanted the cpu to run the car on there simulators after repairing. so he gets the drive back, and he does a reinit, because he can't get the car to run on inspect. he calls shop and they ask him to do an init. still can't run on inspect. safe circuit ok, uax dax input comes on, but no UA output. question is after you do an init, doesn't that load drive with default parameters? should the car at least run with default parameters on inspect? strange thing is that I'm trying to get him to get to MSU i/o screen, but he says that he can't get anywhere with the tool, because it just keeps telling him to do a hoistway learn, which he can't because he says he can't run the car on inspect. John Jay any thoughts.

When you do a reinit i believe it loads the adjusted parameters from the cpu. Car should run. Maybe they changed something on the cpu and lost all the settings? If he has another car in the same bank he could possibly swap out the cpu and write down the parameters and reinit the drive.

When you Init you lose all the previous Field adjustable parameters, such as,encoder ppr, motor rpm,and others. If the Drive Board is now indeed good he can try running on just the MSU Board. this will let him know if those Boards are good. Pull out the CPU, make sure the Safety circuit and door locks are made up, also the mgs input on the Miprom I card rack.Put the car on inspect and you should run on construction speed. That is how they do it on install. It was not a good idea to send a good CPU Board to a Motor Shop. It is a worse idea to take advice from a Motor Shop on how to make an Elevator run. The tool should still show him what the fault Log is. Also make sure the Drve Board jumper at j14 is in the 1-2 position, if it isn't you won't be able to change any Drive Parameters. your friend could be in for a long day.

I was having the exact same issue minus sending the drive off to get repaired, turns out the back auxiliary contact/normally closed one, wasn't making properly. Re-terminated it and the car took the learn and is runnin like a champ!
