Have a new MRL Virginia controls MVF with panel view that keeps blowing MOVFRW water proof A.C. 1 line fuse in controller, changed wires from motor to operator. When I get on sight the car is at top landing and doors are closed with fuse blown in controller. Any info why fuse would blow beside a short because it's very intermittent and every couple days it will shutdown with AC1 230v fuse in controller blown?

Check for any damaged insulation in shaft at point where lift stops. I have had similar intermittent faults in the past which was due to this

Gosh this sounds familiar. If everything else seems to check out, check with Virginia what the fuse rating should be. If I remeber right, we had an MOVFR Virginia hydro that did the same thing. Turned out the controller label and print label were under rated amp wise for the door operator control fuses.

I have similar issue and it turned out to be that the factory installed fast acting instead of slow blow/time delay fuses
If all else fails, read the instructions

That’s usually a good place to start when troubleshooting a fuse blowing intermittently. GAL specifies 4 amp slow blow for 230v operators and 8 amp slow blow for 115v operators. But they also say 8 amp max for 230v and 12 amp max for 115v so you might try going to the max size for troubleshooting purposes. If it still blows you are probably looking for a short rather than an overcurrent from belt tension, door weights or parameters.

There are 5 amp baf fast acting fuses for movfr operator.
Is this equivalent to a 4 amp slo-blo?

I'm going to change to a slow blow 5 amp and see if that's it tomorrow, it's probably likely that wrong fuse was installed. Will let you know how I make out. Thanks

You will need the VCI job number when you call. The VCI job number is the same as the serial number on the VCI data tag inside the controller's enclosure. It is also the same as the drawing number found on the lower right hand column of the print.
