Does any one know where I can buy a tool to communicate with the Tac 50 or Tac 20?

They have a UIT that plugs into the CPU or 188E on teh two but they typicaly are job specific and cant be changed from one controller to another. Other than the UIT you would need a standard verision of IMS for tac 50 or 20.

Thanks for the info. I have learned that World Electronics should have an interface tool for the tac 20 soon but the tac 50 is still very proprietary.

Tough one, even a full IMS package is good for only 1 year and must be updated. UIT is a help but are job specific and software must be installed to add one, definitely not plug and play.

Just had a customer buy the UIT from Thyssen to make the controller be vertially an ICON controller that was sold by Vertical Express (owned by Thyssen). It was quite expensive but makes the TAC-20 totally nonproprietary and the fault codes are the same as an ICON.

I beg to differ on the totally non-proprietary part, the UIT allows you barely enough... try adding a car call lockout with the UIT... can't be done... you are limited as to what you can do...

The UIT won't help you much with a LON problem either. While it is better than nothing, nothing beats the IMS along with a LONS Talk adapter.

Otis has one but I dought they are ready to sell it to the masses. They invested a huge amount of money to reverse engineer the tac 50 to make their labtop.
