I am new in Elevator field. I have joined as an engineer and wanted to learn about elevators. Do you know any sites where I can learn about elevators. Any manuals about the parts. Can I get some help

Where do you work? USA? (State, city?) Euro? Asia? Other? Are you union? Who do you work for?

As a trainee...in India. I would also like to know in a particular project we have a lot of VVVF drive failures in Kone. We have around 100 units. The time when the company took over the Kone lifts as third party, these drives are failing and we are not able to find a solution. Can you please suggest what can be the reason for these failures. Its Kone Monospace Elevators. Could somebody please help me with this issue

Sanjurk- To tell you everything you would need to know, would take hours and hours. If you have not been through an approved apprenticeship program, and are properly licensed to work on lifts, it is very dangerous to be telling you any technical details about elevator operation. I'm sorry, I'd really like to help, but I don't want anyone to get hurt. You need to contact a licensed elevator company in your area.

If I were you, I'd reccomend that every Kone controller be removed, and replaced with a modernization controller. In my opinion, that product line is just a black eye for Kones' reputation. But on the other hand, I'm sure that someone, somewhere just loves it, like maybe Kone Finland.

Sanjurk- being an engineer assuming you are referring to some kind of background in electronics is not sufficient to begin to work on an elevator. While it may be useful, you have to also have a very good set of mechanical skills and an overall knowledge of how elevators work which we learn over a period of years. This is a specialized trade and most of us here are members of the IUEC and have been doing this for years. These things can be extremely dangerous an accidents happen to even experienced mechanics that become careless.
