Question. We have a MiProm21 control system on our elevators. Are these or any part of these obsolete?

2 things come to mind with the Miprom;

It is my understanding that the original AllenBradley DC Drives that Montgomery Elevator used have some key components that are no longer available.

Also there are certain types of button fixtures that are no longer available, and the limited aftermarket replacement parts are so so. I can’t remember the style name, but they’re square with a green vertical registration lamp to the left of the button.

The AB Drive is considered obsolete. However almost everything in there can be sent out to be repaired. Access is the best place to send bad boards. Company's push obsolescence when they want to sell new equipment.

How much success have you had in finding the OEM M1 contactor? I’ve seen some replacements, but sizing an aftermarket contactor that has what 5 aux contacts, fits in the small original space and allows the drive door to close completely seemed impossible. At any rate, I think we answered Billm’s question. Sometimes companies do push obsolescence, but in a lot of instances, it’s the best alternative to aged equipment considering down times, parts availability etc.

I just got one a month or so ago. And another one maybe a year ago.

The Digital dc drive only needs 2 aux contacts. The original allen bradley uses one combo open/close, and a separate open. Sprecher makes a 2 pole DC contactor with similar ratings and size to fit in that spot. Ive done it twice when the ABs were on backorder. But they are still available
