Can someone tell me what me and my coworkers are doing wrong. Trying to replace a LN board.
We have IMS on laptop. We bought an echelon 73351 slta-10 adapter. Hooked up to computer with serial port. This is same serial port we use to hook ims to controller normally. From lon adapter we have a cable we bought from vertical express. Running 2 cable connector out of adapter with the 8 pin din plug into 1 of 2 connectors at top of controller.
Can not get any comunication this way.
I can plug ims directly into controller and see lon this way and see which node is off line but of corse cannot do anything in advance lon manager.

Are you plugging into the TCID or HCID?

You have to set the pcc-10 card to talk to lon. Plug the card in, Open control panel. Open Lonworks plug and play. In NI application Select NSIPCC. Press Diagnostics, then Press COMM, when the window opens select yes, then select quit Then select apply.. The card is now configured to work. then select OK. If you have the right 2 wires connected to the lon it will work.

It was the vertical Express cable. Found some scrap wire and connectors and made my own cable. Setting up lon was suprising easy once i was actually connected
