Hi All,

We are about to take on a couple TXR5 cars.

I've read here that if the SIM card is removed by Shindler, that diagnostics no longer work.

Are these cards always on site until Schindler loses the job at which point they pull them, or are they something that Schindler techs carry around with them to enable diagnostics while they are on site?

Does Schindler always take these cards?

Its my experience that they leave the sim cards in until they loose the contract. It happen to us on a couple jobs. I would tell the customer to not allow Schindler in the building after they notify them of cancelling.

I'll have a look and see if I can find them to make sure that they are there before they notify Schindler.

The SIM cards are for adding functionality to the SMLCD, think of it like an otid game boy/ service tool.
The SIM card is proprietary and when we pull it out you have basic functions left.
It's part of the wet skirt the regulations and let the next company have the bare minimum control of the elevator.
