Can you install a new vf33 drive without a cadi service tool? Or can I take a drive from one car and install it in another without a cadi tool? Any insight on this process and commissioning would be appreciated. Thanks!

Does it have a valid sim card ?
If not then you will need cadi

Last time I did this, and it’s been a year or 2, the drives were coming with a software that isn’t compatible with the controller software in the US. The only way to get it to work was to get the correct drive software from Schindler or have them do it. After that it just needed a drive end commission.

You can use the front pc board of the old drive and replace the new one on the new drive, then you should have functionality to do zero position , dc link test etc
Even with cadi you cant do zero position test if you have software below v2.0

Or if you can see the drive with cadi , get the tr position under drive parameters, drive settings TR and copy it to the new drive.

If you change out the tacho then you cant do that

You cant downgrade v²2 to v1_._ drive software
V2 is 2 and above
V1 is 1 up to 1.17 if im not mistaken
