Can someone explain to me why Schindler has a contactor in front of the main disconnect

Most likely a shunt disconnect to remove power prior to sprinklers being activated

Can you attach a photo of it? Were you able to verify that it is for the shunt trip function of the elevator main line disconnect switch?
