Wrong answer TroubleShoot!! The 895-1000/1010 boards work almost identically the MAC PMSSC operators, which has inputs/outputs identical to the PMSSC (i.e DO3, DO10, etc)
The QKS uses ECI hardware; however, The PCBs are unique to Schindler and so are the motors. I believe they take both dry and hot contacts.
Thank you for the manual. The ECI 895 looks the same but I agree the PCB is different on the QKS14. I got it running ok with good old trial and error but it’s still stalling in nudging and then reopening. Trying to increase nudging speed or torque but not sure which pot it is.
If you end up upgrading to the eci let me know. I just did a couple of them and found a few things that weren't as straight forward as you'd think. It's little stupid stuff that most people will figure out but If you aren't thinking about it going into the job it can throw off your rythem
I like to replace the TDC boards with these from ECI America. They also make LCD replacements for the other boards mentioned here. Especially good for old ECI boards. If you’ve ever had to “upgrade” to or from one of the many versions they made it can be a pain. Sometimes you have to replace the whole switch rack and Ascension 2000 boars are a different part number but the ECI American boards are drop in easy.
If you wish to go AWOL and upgrade the whole kit n' Kaboodle, You no longer have to buy an MOVFE_HH and replace the whole operator. You can just upgrade the existing. GAL now has an MOVFR3. No, you don't have to buy the whole operator because it's based on the MONXT platform and does not use physical limit switches. It's also multi-voltage (line and signal). You can just order the motor and the drive. It can be installed on just about any, except MONXT, operator of GAL/ECI/MAC (pre-PMSSC) origin. You could put it on an old QKS 14/15, 895/1000. You could even put it on older GAL stuff such as a vintage QL, I-Motion I or II, MOD/MOH/MOAP, Dupar shoe drive. It might even go on an Otis OVL. It's like their version of MCE Smartraq, but better. No cams to install. You don't even have to disasemble the control box on your old operator. You can just change out the motor and mount the new operator control box anywhere on the cartop.
Thanks for all the info guys. Door operator definitely needs an upgrade, but I’m just trying to get it to work for now. Works fine on auto, but in nudging it will always reopen at the last 1” or so to full close. Tried going through the pots but not really making a difference. Still reopening every time but only in nudging. Anyone run into this before on the QKS14?
