I have DMC the customer upgrading fire panel he has sprinklers next to smokes so needs flash hat I do not see on print for third input for that recall just primary and alternate can this be done with additional relays added or do they need controller upgrade.? TIA..

In my AHJ the car only has to add the hat flash when the controller is “capable.” DMCs are not, TAC20s are. They shouldn’t be requiring you to add flasher circuits to meet a code that the car wasn’t installed under.

It is my understanding that you need heat detectors next to sprinkler heads which will trip your shunt trip mainline disconnect switch and the MR smoke detector trips the fire hat relay which flashes the firehat light in the car to indicate to the firefighters that the fire is located in the elevator MR.
