Schindler PMS420 machine

We are going to replace one of the brake coils on a Schindler PMS420 machine and the repair manual lists two tools to do the repair. One is a brake opener tool and the other is a brake bolt puller. Are these tools absolutely necessary? Make our life easier?

I've heard of techs getting away without it however it is definitely recommended.
