Yeah you are correct most 32 bit 04s use CAN. The lon was a 03 and some of the early 16bit 04.
DHNF (display hall nodes front) should show his boards. Those boards are junk. If the rubber sleeve fell off it could touching the box and caused a issue with the board. Change the HN board, tape the rubber sleeve up so it stays on. Double check all the connections.
