Hey guys need dover solid state 3 stops prints .The car runs fine about 2 hours then shut down on second floor. Nobody place a second floor call.All boards new.

Why does it stop? What do you do to get it running? Doors open or closed? Will it take calls? What lights are lit on the boards?

Also, is the S relay in? What about U or D relays? Usually Dover posted the drawing numbers in the controller with the job number. Any chance you have a drawing number?

I alone in the building and nobody place a call, is like the car want to park on second floor, doors remains open s relay dropped and hall calls from top and bottom remains lit when I push the button. The power board adjusted to 5 volts exactly and 2u, 2d and 2c wires from the control disconnected.

Is the second floor the alternate landing for fire service?

If your main floor fire sensor is tripping AF relay picks. And AF3 contact holds it in.

Also look at the individual contacts on each (2U, 2D, 2C & AF3) relays. I've had those pin contacts on IBM relays fall threw and make both " NO & NC" contacts.

There no ibm relays on that control I think is a 1972 dover , and also no smoke detectors wires .

Sorry I was thinking of those IBM relays.

Do you have an S and/or a F relay? Are they in?

I believe 2LR pulls in from a hall call. Since you disconnected 2SU & 2SD we know it's not a hall call button stuck. If you go from SC(-) to 2LR(+) what do you read on DC volts? 2LR is on the intermediate board...

If you have an option card, you have fire service available even if you dont have terminals for it. Do you have an option board? Is the DC (door close) relay pulsing? that is, trying to pick ever so slightly? What is the voltage between SC and PC? If over .2V, run a separate ground from PC back to the center tap on the transformer. Are any lights on the intermediate card lit up?

Also, What do you do to get the car running, or does it just go back into service by itself?

First I seriously doubt all boards are NEW. Repaired is more likely. You may have inherited someone's problem in a repaired board especially if it runs for 2 hours then shuts down. The 5v should really be set at 5.2v on DTL & TTL logic. I doubt the .2 is your problem unless there is building supply voltage problems. Did you keep all your old boards? Try to never send them back until you have a running car.

I will go back to the elevator on Tuesday to check everything so I can answer alll your questions.There are 5 boards Power, car, door, top and bottom and intermediate. The options space is empty, I don't know if someone remove it. The car don't back on service when stuck, I bring down on inspection and runs back to service , about 2 hours the same problem.

world electronics has brand new boards for sale. they make there own boards, they are really nice. have a whole set my self also have many older boards if anyone is interested

Just wondering about this part of your post. Is CD relay pulling in?

If not! You should have 24vdc at the following;
PC to 24D
PC to X4 (stop switch)

CD is obviously not pulling in, what I asked was---Does CD relay pulse or try to pull in and then drop out? I don't think it ever gets in because if it did, then the door would inch closed. If you see a pulse on a VMM, then you may need a 250mfd 50VDC polarized cap between 24D and PC. I have seen a lot of SSD (solid state dover) jobs that needed a little bit of filtering in this circuit to cure just such a problem. I know it sounds crazy, but every time that the doors wont close on an SSD, the CD relay pulsed, and this fix took care of it. We just made it a ppractice to add a cap when we took over a job.

When I said every time the door wouldn't close, I meant every time that wasn't caused by a discernible problem.

The owner of the building tell me sometime between 30 min.and 2hours after the elevator parks at 1st floor it went up to the 2nd ans is stuck there. Cd, Lu, F1, Ohs, S relays pulsing. He check the door and now is closed. Johnny I already place the cap between 24d and Pc.Thanks.

Ok guys I find the problem , zener diode of call 2U when gets hot trigger that call and the elevator stuck there.Thank you very much to the people who helped me out there! Thank you all.

Measure the voltage between PC and 24D. It should be close to 24 VDC. If 21 or below add capacitor to PC-24D to stabilize voltage and cards will work properly.
