We're trying to get this lift back in service... The lift is a 3 stop, hydraulic elevator by Sedgwick. The home was foreclosed and the previous home owner had removed the DN relay. We've replaced the DN relay as well as the magnetic reader switches.

Problem: When a call is made (doesn't matter which floor) The elevator will only go up and stops on the final limit. The PLC registers the limit switches on the inputs, but doesn't seem to output anything.

We're leaning more towards replacing the Controller and related components, but wanted to try one last attempt to find a simpler, less expensive solution. We've contacted Quality Elevator, but they only sell some Sedgwick parts and do not provide technical support.

Anyone have any experience with Sedgwick Lifts?

I changed out a traction Sedgwick residential controller several years back. I still have the old controller. It has an Omron PLC. I don't have the prints anymore.

But, Nat at ESI built us a replacement. The family uses the lift every day. It's been eight years now without any issues.

You may want to look up christycollett on this site. He has been a great source for old prints.

There is a company in England that sells a direct replacement for these controllers. Cant remember the name but try a google search. You can always make your own controller with a smartrelay and some magnets and proximity sensors. It's not that hard and kinda fun

Nat at ESI is great. Emi/Porta has a very good easy to use universal residential controller for hydros and winding drums. May have to do some other replacements or additional add ons depending on fixture voltage and valve voltage otherwise a very easy controller to use and program etc.

Does it try to do it on its own without initiating a call or direction..........does it do it by itself without an input?

Forgot one thing: If you jump it off its UP final limit, will it run down or answer a down call?
