I had something close to that problem and it ended up being that the governor cable would sway and reopen a switch at the bottom that the controller wanted closed.If your cable is near any of the terminal switches take a look.I know its odd and its not like the gov cable was just put there but after awhile I guess the switch contacts get flaky and wont tolerate as much movement as they did at first.
