Where can I get a orange cable to talk to the DMC.
Vertical express will not sell them anymore.

call moe, computer shop in san francisco. he has made me many, instead of the 800 bucks that vertical express wanted you can get moe to make you one for 160 bucks or so. they are not orange, but they do work.

Just a update spoke with ECI claims they only repair circuit boards.

I do believe that they sell a tool for the DMC so should have the cable to go with and will refresh an old tool

So does anyone know for sure that ECI (or anyone else for that matter) can update a Fast Tool?

eci west can do it had 2 of mine updated there 900 bucks

So do you guys turn the Fast Tool on and off? Rumor has it that counts the uses and it expires after so many?

good for 250 on off, i just turn it on, never turn it off just unplug had it for a couple of years now, probably only have 25 uses 250 will last a few years, unless you have nothing but dmc jobs. not sure if not turning it off does not increment the count, i heard that rumor also but not willing to experiment with my 900 bucks ha ha

I guess it's ok to unplug without turning off then. Have to turn it on, no choice.

I have also had good luck Eco reprogramming my fast tool...can't talk to them without it...world tool woks pretty good but I seem to have some issues for time to time getting the tool to talk with the dmc units.

ECI will only refresh your fast tool. If you can spend the money get the DMC tool from World. They offer support and if you ever have any issues with the tool they help you out; good people to work with. Also layout is very simple to navigate.
