Bob, The State Elevator, Ride, and Tramway Unit is under funded. At any given moment, something like 40% of Califonia permits are out of date, which kinda makes it look like we are degrading into a third world country. Jerry Brown is slashing education, etc, and the last to get reduced will be fire and police. Expired permits ain't exactly at the top of their list.
I've tried to get the State to red tag two separate jobs recently. I got no response on either. I've been told that if I really need something red tagged, to call Deborah Turner.
