having problems troubleshooting a TAC32 operator board.
I believe the problem is downloading software to it if I understood it correctly.

Would programming a new operator board be "job specific?"
Surely to god not!

A few more details would be helpful.

Are the boards you are referring to 6300s?
What was the old boards number?
What's the new boards number?
What version is the software?
Were the adjustment files loaded prior to shipment?
Did you copy the job files?
Is it using a AC or DC motor?
Are the parameters set properly?

Probably a 6300pa6. Load it with new software v23 through hyper-terminal. Settings should be pretty good by default considering you choose the correct file for your application

done a few of these, like whadafack said, need to load software through hyper terminal, then load the correct parameters. the new boards come with tag that says loaded with factory test software, load correct software before use. you would think the factory software would still work, and you would just enter the correct parameters for the door operator you are using. have not tried it yet, maybe the next one i will leave the factory test software in, and see if i can make it work with just parameter settings.
fyi you can purchase the adapter to load the software from vertical express.
