have a 20 stop gearless car that was stuck in the over head, could not run the car down, it would pick the brake, and try to move down an inch or so, and just hover there. we replaced the motor field and generator control gold boxes, still same outcome. tried to just jump out finals, and let it initiate on automatic, but same problem. i finally got it out of overhead by running a velocity test and setting speed to 25 fpm. go the car to run down and out of the overhead. i reduced speed to 5 fpm, and the car will do 5 fpm in the up and down direction with no problem. the problem is when car is on inspection, if you run it up, the car runs about 25 fpm, if you run it down it is only about 7 fpm, if you get to hi up in shaft, about 3/4 of the way then the car will not run down, it just drifts up. put the car back on normal, and the car runs fine. can't seem to find any info on adjustment of car on inspection. i did notice the car picks ux and dx on normal run, and does not on inspection. this is normal, however I'm thinking it may not be running in closed loop mode on inspection. any ideas.
