I had a IGBT explode on a miconic a's drive yesterday. I can see that these igbt's have been replaced before on some of the other drives. Does a bad VEC board or a bad firing board on the drive cause this to happen. If not, when this happens is it probable that these boards were damaged by the exploding igbt.

Schimdler recomendation is remplaces all at the same time white the Samll boards over the IGBT, when money is important we change in pair normaly use 2 per line we remplace entire line and test

Had the same thing happen, a bad INT (firing) board is what caused it. Not too many of them out there with the INT board. Most of them use the V2V board.

It's was a bad INT board. It has a locked up pulse driver on it.

When an igbt explodes on this controller, Is there a possibility that the power surge created could corrupt the eprom on the VEC board.
